- Dusty Knuckle Bakery were selling Piroshki – sweet, egg-washed and sesame-seed-topped Russian buns filled with spiced cabbage, onion and carrots and it was the best lunch on the move for £3.

- Especially combined with a still-warm Christmas bun (a twist on a cinnamon bun) from Brunswick East mere moments away.

- The mince pie from Esters was one of my favorites this year, even if it was more like an Eccles Cake with juicy, plump raisins that fell out of its crisp, buttery, flaky pastry. The topping of demerara sugar with a few flakes of sea salt made this totally irresistible.

- I discovered E5 Bakehouse vegan chocolate chip cookie, with its abundance of Original Beans chocolate chunks, was as delicious as their non-vegan version.

- The Christmas muffin from the London Book Review Cake Shop was light and moist and the perfect mid-afternoon (or mid-morning) treat.

- Fortitude Bakery’s mince pie pastry was unusual – cakey and crumbly – though still enjoyable, and the filling was my favorite of the season – heavily spiced but well balanced and rich with citrus and dried fruits.
- A chocolate-filled madeleine from O’Craquelin was a delight.

- I LOVED this Christmas Tree ice cream pudding from Chin Chin. So creative, beautiful and also delicious.

- I was sent the chocolate-themed breakfast box by Charlotte of Astrid Bakery and the pastry cup filled with chocolate ganache and chocolate mousse was a hit with all of the family. My favourite was the chocolate and cherry cake. Cake like this is my kryptonite and I couldn’t stop eating it.
